Export a Google Drive File List with Permissions

Need an inventory of your Drive before a handover, for your manager or to check against a client's records? Wistorix lists every file after one scan and exports it as a report.

The Wistorix tool to export a list of files in Google Drive lists every file after one scan, with size, owner, sharing status and last modified date. Filter down to what you need, then export a report to send to your team or attach to a handover.

One list for your whole Drive

‍

Google Drive has no button that lists every file. After a scan, Wistorix shows every file in one list with name, path, file type, size, owner, sharing status and last modified date.

‍

Filter before you export the list of files

‍

Export only what you need: files that are public, files shared outside your organization, files over 100MB or files nobody has opened in a year. A focused report is more useful than one long list.

‍

Export a report in one click

‍

Export the report from the analysis screen to save the results. Use it as an inventory record for a handover, or to compare one scan with the next.

‍

How to export a list of files from Google Drive

‍

  1. Scan your Drive. Install the Wistorix Chrome extension, sign in to the account you want to inventory and run a scan.
  2. Filter the list. Pick a group, or filter by file type, size or sharing status.
  3. Export the report. Save the report to send to your team, attach to a handover record or keep on file.

‍

When to export a file list

‍

  • Before an employee leaves, to see what they own
  • When a client project closes and you need a record of what was delivered
  • During a regular review of files shared outside the company
  • When preparing to move data to another account

‍

The full handover process is in our Google Drive offboarding checklist. If you need permissions in a spreadsheet without any extension, see the Google Drive permissions report guide.

‍

How Wistorix keeps your data safe

‍

  • The list contains file metadata only, never file contents
  • Exporting a report never deletes a file or changes a permission

Frequently asked questions

‍

Does the list include files shared with me?

‍

Yes. Wistorix separates files you own from files others shared with you, and you choose which group to export.

‍

Does the report contain file contents?

‍

No. The report only holds metadata such as name, size, owner and sharing settings.

‍

Can I export the whole company's Drive?

‍

Wistorix scans the Drive of the account you sign in with. For several accounts, scan them one at a time.

‍

Is exporting a file list free?

‍

Scanning and viewing the list is always free.

First scan is free
