Google Drive Public Link Scanner
The Wistorix Google Drive public link checker finds every file set to anyone with the link, shows whether that link lets people view or edit, and closes them in bulk when you say so.

Find every file shared publicly
A file set to anyone with the link opens for whoever has the link, even after it has been forwarded. Wistorix scans your whole Drive and lists every file in this mode under public files.
Know which links to close first
Each file shows the link's role (viewer or editor), the file type, its folder and the last modified date. Public files that allow editing, and contracts, payroll or customer data, should be handled first.
Stop sharing in bulk
Select several files and stop sharing to switch their links back to Restricted. People you shared with by email keep their access. Only the public link is closed.
How to check for public links in Google Drive
- Scan your Drive. Install the Wistorix Chrome extension, sign in and run a scan. Scanning is free.
- Open public files. Sort by link role and file type to see the riskiest files first.
- Stop sharing. Select the files that no longer need to be public and stop sharing them. You can turn a link back on in Drive at any time.
Why public links are the biggest risk
Most Drive data leaks start with a link sent to a client or pasted into a group chat that nobody remembers to close. A public link doesn't require sign-in, so you can't tell who opened it. The manual way to find these files is in our guide to finding publicly shared files in Google Drive.
How Wistorix keeps your data safe
- Wistorix reads sharing settings and file metadata only, never file contents
- It never changes a permission on its own. Every action runs only after you confirm

Frequently asked questions
Will people I invited by email lose access?
No. Closing a public link only turns off anyone with the link. People you shared with by email keep their access.
Can I see who opened a public link?
No. A public link doesn't require sign-in, so Google Drive doesn't record who opened it. That's why it's worth closing links you no longer need.
Does the scanner read my files?
No. Wistorix only reads sharing settings, file names and file types.
Is the public link scan free?
Yes. Scanning and viewing the list of public files is always free.
